Treyarch confirms Call of Duty Black Ops 6 maps won’t be too big at launch, and certainly no bigger than what you’ve played in the beta

If you’ve been playing the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta, you’ve probably gotten used to messing around on Skyline and Derelict. What’s interesting is, according to Treyarch, maps won’t be getting much bigger than those on the official launch. This information was revealed via Twitter, on which the official Treyarch twitter account provided a glimpse into the future of multiplayer maps in Black Ops 6. Not only did we learn that 16 multiplayer maps will be available at launch, we learned that medium sized map like Skyline will be upon the higher end of size.To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settings This may sound surprising, as Skyline doesn’t necisarily feel that large, but to be fair it’s a multi-layered map with two large floors and a sizable exterior too…

With Concord's devs "in limbo" following its shutdown, the game's director is reportedly stepping down to a "support role"

Following the shutdown of Firewalk Studios’ Concord, the game’s developers are reportedly “in limbo”, with game director Ryan Ellis having stepped down into a “support role”, according to a new report.Since PlayStation made the decision to take the game offline on September 6 following a launch which saw low player counts and sales estimates, there’s been a lot of speculation as to whether it might end up being brought back in a different state further down the line, possibly as a free-to-play title. Well, it would seem Sony itself is still weighing up its options. To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settings According to a report from Kotaku, Ellis, the former Destiny 2 creative director who signed on to lead the priject in 2017, told staff last week he’d be m…

The Boys looks to Thomas Jefferson and crabs for its latest season 5 cast addition

The Boys has added Daveed Diggs to the cast of its fifth and final season, though it’s staying quiet on what the role is just yet.Right now, The Boys season 5 is generally a bit of a mystery, considering how bad things were left off in the fourth season, but there was at least one small update for it yesterday in the form of some casting news. “New [season 5] crumbs,” the official The Boys Twitter account wrote, continuing, “let’s all welcome Daveed Diggs to The Boys family, shall we? He’ll be playing a character in the show. That’s all ya get for now.” Aside from that incredible revelation in the second to last sentence there, you really won’t find any information about what character he’ll be playing in the upcoming season, but with big roles under his belt including Ha…

Anything can be a Super Hero now, as DC and Marvel loses their joint trademark over a term that I didn't even know was trademarked in the first place

You’ve now got free reign to use the term Super Hero, as DC and Marvel have lost their joint trademark over the term.I think we should just throw the trademark system out. Let’s just get rid of it, because what do you mean DC and Marvel held a joint trademark over the term “Super Hero” for decades, all while using it to prevent smaller companies from using it for their own works? Well, that’s all over now, as the pair of comics giants have lost the trademark, meaning anyone can now use the term in their own comics. As reported by Bleeding Cool, law firm Reichman Jorgensen Lehman & Feldberg (RLJF) announced its victory over the trademark case against Marvel and DC Comics. After a minor calendar mix-up, Helldivers 2's next big patch drops soon and it's already inspired jokes about Skyrim being ported to some bullets

Helldivers 2’s next big patch is now set to drop tomorrow, October 15, because Arrowhead forgot to factor weekends into its plans when it announced that 60 day plan during the summer. The good news is that the studio’s made up for this minor oversight via a cheeky video teasing what’s coming in the patch, including one inclusion that’s seen Johan Pilestedt get in on the jokes.Yep, in a another one of those cheeky little videos Arrowhead used to gradually reveal a lot of the major stuff that’d be included in the game’s last big update, CCO Pilestedt and developer Niklas Malmborg adressed the fact that the 60-day plan is now technically a 63-day one.To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settings “We don’t patch during weekends, because we don’t want to break the g…

VariousThere are so many ways to be a Dungeons & Dragons fan these days. The tabletop RPG mainstay has been synonymous with pen-and-paper adventuring for 50 years now, and 2024 marks a major reworking of its core rulebooks to make the game more approachable. Anyone who’s played even just a couple of sessions knows how easy it can be to covet a friend’s set of custom dice, appreciate the care a Dungeon Master has taken in setting the right ambience for a crafted campaign, or even obsess over their choice of pen and notebook — after all, it’s what you’ll be spending a large chunk of time staring into as you ponder your character’s next heroic action. But what’s amazing is that you can be a huge D&D fan without ever touching a character sheet. D&D and the Forgotten R…

He began writing about tech and gaming in 2013, and migrated from The Verge in 2023.One of the best unofficial October Prime Day deals has come early at Woot, where you can get a new Nintendo Switch OLED with either white or neon blue/red Joy-Con for $299.99 ($50 off). It’s not typical for this console to receive any kind of discount, so we’re usually skeptical that there’s something amiss when one pops up, like an iffy warranty, or that it isn’t the U.S. version, which includes a different power adapter. However, there are no strings attached; you’re just getting a great deal.Nintendo Switch OLED$300$35014% off$300Nintendo’s hybrid console still has plenty of staying power, especially with this year…
